LOSING OUR HOME

This was not how I had planned it when we started out some years ago. Wat Opot was to be a permanent home for its residents, and me. Things don’t always go as planned, however. and although I am disappointed in losing Wat Opot as our home, I am also very grateful for the many wonderful relationships that were formed with children, staff, volunteers, and supporters.

Pictures say a thousand words, but they also open a flood of memories, good, bad, happy, and sad. Memories of times we worked together… there was nothing we couldn’t do.

But we also played together when our work was finished and on days there was no school.

And when needed we prayed or sat in silent meditation at the end of each day.

So many memories for us to hold on to… but there are still more memories to make. Wat Opot may have been our home but Watopotia is not a place, it is a way of living and this website is dedicated to all who have become Watopotians.
