On the last day of the Khmer New Year, we took some of the Wat Opot children to the beach in Kep for a day of swimming.

It had been a while since we had gone on an outing, and Dara and the children had a good time in the water; however, like times before, something in the water caused many of them to develop an annoying itch.

We had our lunch delivered to us on the beach because the lines in the restaurants were very long due to the large number of people who decided to do the same thing that we did.

On the way back, we drove through Kampot so the kids could see the giant seahorse. I had no idea what they were talking about, even though they had described it to me very well. It was my first visit to the city, and I was quite impressed with how well it was planned.

We finished the day with a stop at our favorite barbecue restaurant in Takeo before dropping them off at their homes and returning to Phnom Penh.
