This Christmas was special for us because our good friend and supporter, Bonnie G. was here to help us celebrate. We don’t have many opportunities to reunite as a family since the closing of our beloved Wat Opot; however, whenever possible, we arrange these outings so that the “kids” and their children can be together.

These are just some of the Takao family who lived together at Wat Opot until its closure. Not included in this group are the new SAHAKA children who just received their first monthly support payments for education. Eventually, they will be added to these group outings.

Included, however, are some of the SAHAKA grandchildren who are meeting each other for the first time.
This picture was taken the night before at a special Christmas dinner and Birthday celebration for Scott and some of the others in the group. It was one of the largest gatherings ever of Watopotians who live and work in Phnom Penh. Not included are many who work the evening shifts at restaurants and nightclubs

This is a picture of the preschool children in Prey Veng, earlier in the week, receiving their Christmas treat. Not included are the 14 new children who have just joined the SAHAKA FOUNDATION this month for educational assistance.
I am very grateful for the support we receive from our donors, especially those who take the time to come and visit with us. I am also grateful to Dara, who does most of the work, keeping track of the many lives connected to the organization… and I am especially grateful for those who still put up with me.
The SAHAKA donation page is up to date for those who may want to help us in this coming year with a tax-deductible donation. If you live in Cambodia, you can make a QR donation (below) to the SAHAKA FOUNDATION, or this site now accepts PAYPAL as well.
