It is difficult to visit our newest SAHAKA members at home because of the distance between them. We sponsor these luncheons, sometimes at restaurants; however, we’ve found that many attendees prefer rice and sour fish soup and are not interested in even trying new dishes. For that reason, we decided to have our luncheon at Sitha’s house this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It went much better, and the money we saved on the meal and the gas for travel can be used for better things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because many of these new children do not know each other, Dara played some memory games with them to break the ice. After our meal, they were given their monthly stipend and “Grandfather bonus.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a good day; however, on the ride back to Phnom Penh, Josh, Dara, and I talked about the old days and how we wished we could revive the old Wat Opot campus to create a more permanent meeting place. It is still a possibility, but with the Wat being under new management, it is taking time to decide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
