{"id":731,"date":"2025-02-05T02:54:42","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T02:54:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/watopotians.org\/?p=731"},"modified":"2025-11-02T11:37:47","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T11:37:47","slug":"sahaka-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watopotians.org\/index.php\/2025\/02\/05\/sahaka-update-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SAHAKA UPDATE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\">Charities Aid Foundation of America<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The SAHAKA FOUNDATION ORGANISATION (SFO) is pleased to announce that it has been accepted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/watopotians.org\/index.php\/sahaka-foundation-history\/#:~:text=Charities%20Aid%20Foundation%20of%20America\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cafamerica.org\/?s=SAHAKA%20FOUNDATION%20ORGANISATION\">Charities Aid Foundation America<\/a><\/strong> (CAF America) and has received its first payment from a grant submitted to it for this year. The funds received will help with the preschool program in Prey Veng, and will also support some of our SFO students and vulnerable families. They are a tax-deductible organization and gifts can be given through them, although we still prefer using the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sahaka.org\/en\/donate\"><strong>SAHAKA website<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Our move back to Wat Opot has been delayed, for a while, until the Partners in Compassion group completes their transfer to private land and a wall is built to separate the grounds. We have visited the family several times and usually, he\u2019s lying on a bamboo bed. I didn\u2019t think he was much aware of things but when I tried to hold him, he sure made me aware of the fact that he didn\u2019t like me\u2026 although by the end of the visit, I did get him to smile. There is not much we can do for him\u2026 I share the picture only to let you know that in Cambodia there is little support for families with children like Ek\u2026 the community leaders do what they can but rely on Organizations like SFO to assist them\u2026 and with your support, we have been able to help the family in getting basic needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">So things are looking up again and we can now think about taking on new families and students.
