The first meeting in Phnom Penh of three Watopotians who have passed their high school exams and are now interested in furthering their studies. The enrollment process will begin soon, and decisions must be made about where and what to study.<\/p>\n\n\n

Mr. Dara took us on a tour of Phnom Penh, which included a drive along the Mekong River, which is presently overflowing its banks. It was almost time for lunch, so we decided to eat at a Korean restaurant along the strip. The view was great, but because I couldn’t read the menu, I wasn’t sure about the food they were ordering… or the cost. <\/p>\n\n\n

The food was better than I had anticipated; however, my use of chopsticks has not improved at all, and therefore, even though tips are not necessary, I left $1.50 on the table for the clean-up crew. For my Western friends, the bill came to just $32.00.<\/p>\n\n\n

After the meal, we drove around the city to look at the Universities available. The girls are interested in business and accounting, while Seng Hak is interested in learning about food science and quality control. <\/p>\n\n\n

All of the schools had several interested applicants making inquiries, and so the coming weeks will be hectic as they fill in the applications and find out which school accepts them. If all three of them are accepted, they will join the other three university students who are being sponsored by the SAHAKA FOUNDATION.<\/p>\n\n\n

We will keep you updated on these students, as well as the other three, once the new school year starts. We are still working on updating the official SAHAKA website, which at this moment has outdated information on it.
