Nightly visits at my flat are becoming more frequent as the kids in Phnom Penh learn that I have returned.

Today Mr. Dara and I started the follow-up home visits with the children who have been returned to their families.

We spent the whole day on the road but the results were encouraging. Everyone we visited seems to be making a good adjustment so far. There are others, however, that we have heard may not be doing as well. We will hold off on some of the visits because our presence may interfere with the new guardian’s ability to discipline or gain the trust of the children.

Even our youngest was happy to return to her grandparent’s care after nearly a year’s absence because of the grandmother’s illness.
