Sahaka School Supply / Prey Veng / 2025

These pictures, and so many others, were taken by Scott Rotzoll on the 25th of October during the school supply distribution in Prey Veng. Backpacks and notebooks were given to ten children from each of the five surrounding villages. The children were chosen by the village leader according to those who were most needy. Twenty of the day-school children also received the gift packs.

The program didn’t start until 10:30, but many of the children were already there when we arrived from Phnom Penh at 8:00. Fortunately, the playground was available for them as well as free pony rides (although to the children, I am considered a horse).

The children were very attentive and well-controlled during the speeches. Both Dara and I spoke on the importance of education in young people’s lives and emphasized SAHAKA’s commitment to helping the disadvantaged and vulnerable children of Cambodia.

Rice noodles were served after the ceremony to all of the children and guests, which included the village leaders,

as well as parents and local police. Both Dara and I are very grateful to all who help to make these events possible.

The SAHAKA donation page is up to date for those who may want to help us in this coming year with a tax-deductible donation. If you live in Cambodia, you can make a QR donation to the SAHAKA FOUNDATION bank account.

We are very appreciative of the support we have already received. Without it, we could not make these life-changing opportunities available for these children who are dependent on SAHAKA support.

NAMASTE
